Cooler Rentals example

The list price for a full size, one door Koolaire cooler, is $3914. I've seen a lot of people paying 10% under list. A realistic price is $1950. You should also try for free delivery and the voiding the service call that condemned your old freezer.

The list price is $4729, bet I have seen many people buy this unit for $2300. That is a good a good price but is still realistic . Negotiate and shop around and . This is the number I will use.

Note: Some Manitowoc distributors sell True also, because of higher profit margins. If you can't get a good price on Koolaire, try the True brand. .

A realistic rental rate for this unit is $85 a month. That includes delivery and set up within the service company's normal service area. We will look at buying and then compare it to having rented. Now lets do the math, let's crunch the numbers. .

$1,950 The reach in cooler price.

$ 85 month rent
x 23 months
------
$1,955

The reach in cooler is paid for by the saved rent in 23 months. At the end of the warranty you will be $85 ahead.

You now own the unit, so you will continue saving $85 a month, by not paying rent for the next 10 years or so. But you will have to pay for repairs.

$ 85 month rent
x 12 months
------
$1,020

You will be saving $1,020 every year. Repairs will be a very small part of that. Especially if you do preventive maintenance. You will have saved enough to buy a new reach in cooler, about every 2 years,

Cooler rentals are great for the rental company. Cooler rentals are not great for you. The next question is "new or used".
